Investing in the Web

In the new Web 2.0 world, you can invest in things other than just stocks. Nowadays, you can invest in websites, videos, and anything else you can think of.

You can make money with web investments. I can't say that it will be a whole lot of money, but a little income here and there will always add up. LinkVestor is a site that members can purchase front page links at whatever the price is at the time. Then, members may sell it back when they feel the need to. With several successful transactions, you could make a killing off of LinkVestor. Or with several bad transactions, you could lose a bunch of money.

But before you get started with LinkVestor, it would be ideal to watch its market for a few days. Right now a link will cost $14.99. An investor new to LinkVestor might think this is a great price and then find that tomorrow the link is at $4.99!

This was taken from the Rolex-Mails TOS. I am confused when reading this. According to this, I am responsible for reporting payment, but Rolex-Mails is not responsible for the loss of my money. This makes no sense, whatsoever!

Pay Per Posts

A large number of people take this route to make money only to be surprised at their low earnings. Pay per posts forums will pay members to post in their forums. However, in order to actually make real money, you'd have to post like a mad man!

myLot seems to be the most popular among forum earners these days. I gave it a shot, and made about $0.25 in a week. I didn't post in every single forum category, but I posted on the threads that appealed to me. Of course this amount is definitely not going to feed me. But I guess with a little more effort, it could bring in somewhere around an extra $20.00 per month.

What to expect:

• Don't expect to make a lot of money right away
• Don't expect other quality threads. Users just want to make money and don't care about quality, just quantity
• Don't expect great administrative support. They just want Internet popularity.
• Expect to see ads, lots of them

I'm not trying to give the impression that paid forums are bad, but they are no where close to the quality of forums that do not pay others.

I know it's not the deepest quote, but this is very true in just about any situation- including making money on the web. There are a number of reasons the first step is the hardest. Maybe you are scared. Or you don't have the tools you need. Or maybe you just don't know how to begin. In the rest of this post, I'll cover exactly what you need to get started as an affiliate marketer.

Affiliate marketing is the best type of marketing to get into. I say this because first of all, you don't have to spend any money at all! You don't need to have your own product, you just use someone else's! But as you may or may not know, choosing your marketing niche can be a difficult task. Think about it this way when trying to choose your marketing niche:

• What is popular these days
• What products are in a price range that most people can buy
• What do I know a lot/reasonable amount about

Create a list of things you can sell and cross out the niches that do not fit the criteria. Once you've finished, just select one out of the remaining topics.


So you've got your niche, but you still have no idea where to find a product to sell. Websites like Affiliate Guide can simplify your search. They've categorized affiliate programs by niche, so you'll easily locate what you're looking for. Or you could use something like Commission Junction to find affiliate programs.


Usually, affiliate hosts will provide you with your own site. It may have a long url, but a url redirection service is ideal.

Rolex Mails, Capital Mails, and All the Others!

Recently I registered for a number of PTR sites. I had not done any research on them, but I figured that I should just give them a shot. I think I made an “okay” decision.

Rolex Mails, Capital Mails, Bank Mails, Work Mails, and Euro Mails are all owned and operated by the same company. So I figured, “If I sign up for 1, I might as well sign up for all of them”. So, I did. It’s only been about a week, and I’ve made about $450 will Rolex. The payout minimum is $1000. That’s not too hard to reach- considering the fact that they give out $200 just for registering. However, Capital, Bank, and Work have set very high payout minimums unless you’re a platinum member. (You must use European currency for Euro Mails- so I have not registered.) Capital has their minimum set at $30,000! You think that’s high? The others are set above $100,000! You can reach these goals easier if you have a lot of referrals, but if you don’t, you’re looking at years of reading emails!

As I’ve said before, there’s always a catch! You may earn a lot of money easily with these services, but it’ll take you a long time or a lot of work to do it.

Getting Started

Before you get into making money online, there are a few things you need to do in order to be prepared.

1.) Prepare to be in this for the long run!

Making money online takes more time than you think. You can’t just hop on the computer and expect to get $100 in the mail the next day. You can make $100 with GPT sites, but you’ll end up spending $88 while you do it. There’s always a catch- no matter what people say. So, make sure you plan out some time to fully dedicate yourself to making money.

2.) Never give out too much information.

This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enter your real name. Avoid entering your actual address, phone number, and email. Instead, use an email address from email.bugmenot.com. It’s free and extremely simple. You don’t even need a password. Also, instead of using your phone number, get a Brring.com redirection service so you can make money while these internet services try to contact you. You’ll get a dollar each time they try to call you. It works even if the company is a scam. Lastly, just make up a fake address. If companies want to send you money via check, you should always be able to change you address before cashing out.

3.) Use something to track your earning.

Whether it’s a notebook, blog, or Microsoft Word document, you should always keep track of your online earnings.

4.) Don’t spend any money!

I say this because before you know it, you would have spent more money than you earned online. Don’t even put money into your PayPal account! But if you must, limit yourself. Deposit $10 each month into PayPal. Don’t get carried away.

5.) Create an online desktop.

This is my favorite part (besides making the actual money!). I recommend mygoya.com as on online desktop. It makes it easier to track all of your online tools. And plus, if you’re not always on the same computer, this allows you to store everything online instead of on a flash drive.
